Can't Take My Eyes Off You
  • Imprisoned inside a tower on a small island, and forbidden to look directly at the world, a woman sits looking into a mirror whilst weaving its reflections, not knowing what curse should befall her should she dare to look directly out of the window.
Although inspired by Tennyson's poem The Lady of Shalott, my personal tribute replaces the mythical knight Lancelot du Lac with a more up to date Home Lovin' Man - one of the world's greatest romantic ballad singers with the smoothest, richest golden voice - his was the first album I bought over 4 decades ago!
  • Commissioned for MART 1999
  • 7ft high. Hand printed and reflective, embroidered/appliquéd, PVC plastics and found objects.
  • 1999.
