- Imprisoned inside a tower on a small island, and forbidden
to look directly at the world, a woman sits looking into a
mirror whilst weaving its reflections, not knowing what curse
should befall her should she dare to look directly out of
the window.
Although inspired by Tennyson's poem The Lady
of Shalott, my personal tribute replaces the mythical
knight Lancelot du Lac with a more up to date Home
Lovin' Man - one of the world's greatest romantic
ballad singers with the smoothest, richest golden voice -
his was the first album I bought over 4 decades ago!
- Commissioned for MART 1999
- 7ft high. Hand printed and reflective, embroidered/appliquéd,
PVC plastics and found objects.
