The Big Dipper Sitter, The Peacock Throne, The Garden Seat

The Big Dipper Sitter
  • Drawings and collages of fruit and vegetables were used as a starting point for chair designs inspired by funfairs. An old chair was then transformed using recycled plastics and found objects.
  • Created by Y4 at St Williams Primary School, Ince, Wigan, Lancashire in 2006.
The Peacock Throne
  • "We looked at pictures of peacocks and feathers and did drawings, then Gaye came to our school and we made feathers and did weaving to make our throne."
  • The Nursery Class at Lowhall Primary School, Platt Bridge, Lancashire created this reading chair in 2005.
The Garden Seat
  • An old chair and table were customised with recycled plastics for the Entrance Hall in Hallgate House, Wigan. Lancashire.
  • Created by 4 members of the Wigan Wednesday Night Gateway Club at Drumcroon Art Centre, Wigan in 1997.
